Our new Head Chef Andrew Machanic, a 1993 graduate of the
New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont, joined the Ranch
family in 2006, and has been delighting guests with his creative menus,
fresh ingredients and artful presentations. Savoring Andrew's food in
the historic lodge dining room with its large central fireplace, original
light fixtures, and mountain vistas is a relaxing and congenial experience.
Dining room seating provides intimate tables for 2, or larger tables where
you have the opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie of other guests. There
are local musicians at the ranch for your entertainment 3 to 4 nights
a week during the dinner hour. Two nights a week, dinner takes place outdoors
- a special Dutch Oven Cook-Out and our Barbeque Night. Our kitchen was
fully updated and remodeled for the 2006 guest season, where chef Andrew
is busy cooking up specialties like grilled pizzettas, raisin walnut bread,
roast free range chicken with red mole, and corn griddle cakes.
Breakfast and dinner meals are included in lodging.
Breakfast
Daily breakfast begins with a buffet of fresh fruit, homemade granola
and baked goods, juices, and fresh brewed Peet's coffee and teas. You
then may choose from among our daily specials to complete your breakfast
feast.
Lunch
You may order a variety of packed picnic lunches in advance to take with
you on your day's adventures, from never-fail PB&J to smoked summer
sausage. Lunch is not served in the dining room.
Dinner
Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday nights, dinners are multi-course
delights, prepared by our chef Andrew. The meal is served country fine
dining style in the lodge from 6:30 until 8:30 pm. Children, if desired,
may eat early from a simple children's menu these evenings.
An IRMR tradition continues on Saturday evening when you are treated to
a local Idaho multi-course feast, with three entrees, served family style.
Menu favorites include Idaho ruby rainbow trout, succulent lamb, mountain
style paella, duck breast, and of course side dishes and homemade bread
and dessert.

Wagon Dutch Oven Cook-Out
Monday evening you depart from the lodge in a horse-drawn wagon for a
casual dinner in a meadow amidst the pines. Spectacular views of the Sawtooth
Mountains, the soothing water of Gold Creek and the crooning of local
musicians accompany your feast of dishes like yucatan beef with Idaho
corn and potatoes, chicken veracruz with capers and olives, roasted carrots
with chile arboles and coconut, homemade biscuits, and fruit cobbler for
dessert, cooked in our dutch ovens.
IRMR Barbecue Night
On Thursday evening, watch the last lingering rays of an Idaho day come
to a close as you sit on the front porch and enjoy a delicious grilled
BBQ buffet with all the fixin's while listening to local musicians.
Beverages & Special Diets
A variety of fine wines, beers and non-alcohol beer is available. There
is a corkage fee for personal beverages brought to the porch and lodge
dining room. Menu options for special diets are available with advance
notice.
