About Us
Rural Network Services (RNS) was established in 1995 to provide long distance and dial-up internet services to rural communities in Idaho, Oregon and Arizona that were being provided local phone service by Midvale Telephone Exchange (MTE). In 1996 a local office was opened in Weiser, Idaho and in 2001 the service offerings were expanded to include local telephone service to that community. The current service offerings now include DSL, ethernet, and other high-speed data services.
In addition to the close working relationship with MTE, RNS has also partnered with Syringa Networks to bring fiber optic, ring topology-based high-speed services to Weiser and other southern Idaho communities.
In an effort to further support the development of service that will be provided, in 2011 RNS was purchased by MTE. With the additional resources available, the service offerings will continue to expand as the demand for expanding communications technology grows in Weiser and throughout the MTE network.
